Hello All!

My name is Jeff and I live in west central Indiana. I got my start in gardening in 1993 when I volunteered to do it for my grandmother because she couldn't physically do it any longer and she hated to see all her efforts lost.

It was a mentor/student relationship as far as gardening was concerned. I learned from her 70+ years of experience. And along the way, I have gained more knowledge from books and watching gardening shows like "Victory Garden" on PBS.

My other interest are camping, hiking, fishing, reading (non-fiction), playing with my dogs, playing my dulcimer. I look forward to meeting new people here and interacting with you all.

Welcome Jeff. What a wonderful way to learn to garden and what a wonderful gift to give your grandmother. I'll bet that was some garden!

You've brought a tear to my eye, freedomgardener, as I remember helping my grandma in her garden when I was a kid. She was the sort of amazing gardener who could plant sawdust and grow a pine tree.
