A snood is basically a scarf and hood. I've found so many great ones and I'm trying to make as many as I can with the yarn I have already. Here are some images of some that I like.

I know those as "cowls"....Here is what I know as a "snood" --

They are a way to tie up/cover your hair as part of your faith.

Those are kinda nifty. I have never seen a snood like that. The only snoods I have ever seen looked more or less like this random snood of photobucket.

Those snood scarfs are beautiful though. I love the pup snood:D

I have actually met Lady MacSnood. She sometimes is a vendor at the SCA (medieval reenacting) events we attend. Her snoods are lovely and obviously take time to make.

I have several snoods to wear when I am reenacting. I wear my hair long for ease of styling--there are many snoods or caps that are appropriate to the era we portray.
