View Full Version : My first completely built rabbit cage..

Its a two hole cage.. The section on the left is 36w by 24d by 18h.. The one on the right is 24w by 24d by 18h.. I have a hay rack on each side that I can fill from the outside.. The doors are on the top and are each 1ft by 1ft.. I still want to figure out a way to put nest boxes on the outside so they can have more floorspace.. Maybe build a whole wood section on the back with wire floors.. The wire is 1X1/2 on the bottom and 1/2X1/2 on the sides.. Might go with 1X1 on the sides next time as the 1/2X1/2 was hard to work with..

It looks pretty good. I drill holes in the sides of the food bowls and wire them to the sides of the cage. Makes it harder for them to turn their bowls upside down.

The bowls aren't permanent.. Just until I get J feeders to install on the sides.. The bowl on the left is also a heavy bottom bowl, specifically made to be hard to tip over.. I think it's made for ferrets which are notorious for tipping their food..
