You don't have to choose...just wiggle them apart when you transplant.

Are they separate containers or did you shape the soil into that shape?! I wanna know!!

They are in compressed peat cells (fiber cells.) I chose them because I can plant the whole cell, and they'll naturally break down. I might need to do a transplant to larger container before spring at the rate they're growing! They're gonna overgrow the little cells long before it's warm enough to plant them outside. YIPES! So, if that happens, then I'll separate everybody and let them each get strong in their own space.
