I have some great looking tomato plants, from seed, that I am begining to harden off. Daytime outside nighttime inside this week.
But what should the temps be to transplant them in the soil? Are there specific daytime highs or nighttime highs? Specific soil temps??
live and learn.. thanks for the help!

It is best if nighttime lows are above 50. You can plant out earlier with protection such as a hoop house. Kim

Yikes, I had hoped sooner rather then later
Thank you, it gives me a good reason to get the hoops ready sooner!!
have a great week

make sure you know your average last day of frost. They should not be planted in the ground before then.

Soil temperature is important also. Cold soil will result in stunted plants and it will take them a long time to recover. Be patient and wait till things warm up.

And if it is kinda cool out even when the soil temp is at an ideal temp, wait until it warms up again. Tomatoes love the heat.
