I know, I normally stick to chickens, but worms are a part of poultry management also, as they do break down chicken waste for gardening.
The link above is a rough sketch of my worm bin set-up and how I managed to be allowed to keep it in the kitchen (">
Also, after every heavy rain, I dash out to scoop up compost worms from the pavement with my trusty spatula! Knowing which worms are best helps that selection process.. there are lots of photos online of red wigglers to help out with picking out the best species.
