I was wondering since blackberry and rasberry are in the same family. What would happen if I planted them to gather or should I just go with all of the same type. Thanks for you input:)

Sure they can be planted together. I haven't done it since I have wild blackberries along my property.
One thing I'll caution you on is that they mutiply fast. I am contantly yanking blackberries out of my yard and a neighbor is always giving away raspberry starts that have expanded from her patch.
Good luck!

cool thanks, my son loves them or should I say everyone dose and I am sick of spending all that money buying them when I could grow them just as well. Also I hear the bees love them too.

Sounds like a great idea!. It will help stagger your berry harvest as well.

You might do a little research and see which varieties grow well in your area. I planted two varieties of blackberries and I am glad I did - one is much sweeter and faster growing even though both said they were sweet.
We can't grow raspberries here - I wish I could. I love them.
