Welcome to "no-excuse gardening." In just 30 short minutes you can have a vegetable garden, which will be an excellent first project if you are new to gardening. If you are a seasoned gardener, using Garden Soxx is just the perfect way to start something new, without wasting too much time or effort in the process.
Garden Soxx, which were originally designed for erosion control, have also become a new way to plant in small spaces, which makes them perfect for raised bed gardening. Garden Soxx are cleverly made from a synthetic fabric which is stuffed with 1 cubic foot of compost, and will last from 3-5 years.
I am using a 4X4 raised bed, so I will need 12 Garden Soxx to fill my bed.
It's the simplest thing you'll ever do. All you'll need is your scissors for cutting the places that you will plant. Once the plants are in, water thoroughly. After that, all you have to do is wait and plan the tasty meals that are coming your way.
For my vegetables, I will plant squash, beans and lettuce. The important thing to know about your vegetable garden is that lettuce can be hard to grow because it needs shade, but if you use the three sister's approach, you will remember to plant the lettuce in between the squash and beans. These plants will offer shade for the lettuce and all three of them will thrive nicely.
